One (1) Regular Full-Time Non-Exempt Vacancy

Anticipated Hiring Range: $11.84/hr. - $15.39/hr., Depending on Qualifications
DEFINITION: Under direct supervision, the purpose of the position is to maintain and repair city roads, right of ways, and properties. Employees in this classification perform entry level manual work. Position is responsible for asphalt patching, concrete work, sign maintenance, tree work, mowing, and other maintenance duties. Position is subject to being “on-call.”

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Not all inclusive): Operates vehicles such as pick-up trucks to maintain city systems and facilities. Operates hand and power tools to service or maintain city roads, right of ways, and properties, or equipment such as sewer/water systems, parks, roadways, or buildings. Operates large equipment such as dump trucks, clam trucks, boom mowers and asphalt patch trucks to service city roads, right of ways, and properties. Installs asphalt, concrete, sod, and other materials in the repair of city roads, right of ways, and properties. Completes reports such as daily logs and time sheets. Operates radio communications equipment; controls traffic. Performs related duties as directed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED required; supplemented by a minimum of one (1) year previous experience or training related to concrete, asphalt, landscaping, tree work or sign/signalization.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Must possess and maintain, or be able to obtain within six (6) months of appointment to the position the following:  Florida Commercial Driver's License, Class B, with air brakes and tanker endorsement. Must possess a valid Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Card when CDL license is obtained. Must possess, and maintain, or be able to obtain within one (1) year of appointment to the position the following: a FDOT Approved Intermediate MOT (Maintenance of Traffic) certification.
