Christopher M. Alcantara was born~on April 30, 1990, at the Metropolitan Hospital~in New York City, to immigrant parents from the Dominican Republic. He lived in Bronx, NY,~until the age of 15. In 2005, he moved to Orlando, FL, with his mother, stepfather,~and sisters. In 2007, his family moved to the City of Deltona. At the age of 14, the presidential election, George W. Bush v. John Kerry, sparked his interests in politics and world affairs. Since then, he has been an active member in his community.
In~2008, Christopher M. Alcantara graduated with honors from Pine Ridge High School. That same year, he was accepted to Stetson University and in 2011, he received his BBA in Economics. ~In the summer of 2011, he was enrolled at Georgetown University, where he completed coursework for the Engalitcheff Institute~on Comparative Political and Economic Systems. During his time at Georgetown, he interned at The Tax Foundation; The Tax Foundation is the nation’s leading independent tax policy research organization.~Christopher M. Alcantara~also has a number of MPA courses under his belt from the University of Central Florida, including Cross-Sectoral~Governance, Analytical Techniques for PA, PA in~Policy Process,~Public Budgeting, Public Financial~Management, and Grant and Contract Management.~One~of his educational goals is to obtain a Ph.D. in Economics with the hope of one day becoming a professor at~a Florida university.
In his spare time, Christopher M. Alcantara can be found reading books, writing poetry,~playing basketball at Wes Crile Park, riding his yellow bike around the City of Deltona, working out~at LA Fitness, and playing dominoes with family and friends. He~also volunteers for street cleanups and mentoring,~and is an~active member in several civic, political, and fraternal organizations.
