Abandoned buildings, as well as any unsafe building, should be brought to the attention of Enforcement Services at the above number. Also, contact the Volusia County Sheriff's Department at (386) 736-5999 if the building is open and/or children or vagrants are utilizing the building.
Report all abandoned, junk, discarded, untagged, or inoperable motor vehicles to the Enforcement Services Department at the above number. All abandoned vehicles that may create a traffic hazard or unsafe condition should be reported to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office immediately at (386) 736-5999.
Act Corporation, a private, not-for-profit Company, merged with Stewart-Marchman Center to combine the service delivery of mental health and addiction services. The Corporation offers a wide range of community mental health services to all persons, regardless of age, race, financial status, or other criteria at its facilities in northeast Florida.

C.E.R.T. Community Emergency Response Team
The City of Deltona C.E.R.T. program is an educational program for local citizens and business owners/operators that is intended to prepare you to help yourself, your family and your neighbors in the event of a catastrophic disaster. The C.E.R.T. training course consists of 21 hours of training and three hours of practical exercise. The course is held every Saturday for four weeks and each session requires hands-on, interactive training. There are no examinations required to pass this program, however, your skills will be measured through practical exercise. Throughout the course, you will learn information which will assist your family and community during the first critical hours after a disaster. At the conclusion of the program, students will receive a certification from the Federal
Emergency Management Agency and a volunteer C.E.R.T. identification card. C.E.R.T. brochure and registration form.

The City has several citizen boards that deal with issues ranging from planning and zoning matters, Code Enforecment and Parks & Recreation. Opportunities to serve on these boards occur throughout the year.
The City Clerk's Department performs administrative functions as specified per the City Charter and Florida Statutes, as well as other duties related to community relations, special projects as requested and needed to promote citizen involvement, voter education, and help meet citizen needs.
The City of Deltona operates under a Commission/Manager form of government consisting of an elected Mayor, an elected 6-member Commission and an appointed, professional City Manager. Residents elect, through non-partisan elections, a Mayor who represents the City at large and six Commission members who each represent a specific district of the community. Elected officials serve staggered 4-year terms. The Mayor and Commission are responsible for the legislative and policy direction functions of City government. The City Manager serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the City who oversees the day-to-day operations of the City and reports directly to the elected body. The City Manager, as chief administrative officer of the City, plans, organizes and directs the activities of all departments of the municipality. In carrying out these duties, the City Manager interprets and implements City Commission policies; coordinates department efforts; handles citizen's inquiries, complaints and requests; prepares management reports that will assist in the decision making process; recommends legislation that appears necessary and desirable; represents the City in its relations with the public, the press, and other governmental entities; submits the annual budget for approval; and executes policies and desires of the City Commission through administrative directives.

The Deltona Comprehensive Plan is a statement of the City's goals, objectives and policies regarding future physical growth. The Comprehensive Plan is an official public document adopted by the City Commission. The plan reflects the concerns and what the community is feeling about how, when and where the City should encourage of discourage development. It communicates the City's intentions regarding land use controls, policy formulation, and capital improvement programming, thus enabling coordination of public and private development activities.
The Comprehensive Plan is divided into eight elements; future land use, transportation, housing, infrastructure, conservation, parks and recreation; intergovernmental coordination, capital improvement, and urban design.

Children First – The Children First Program is an educational program designed for parents with minor children who are divorcing or are divorced. It is also appropriate for extended families or caregivers concerned about the well-being of the children of divorce. Deed restrictions are imposed and enforced by the developer of your subdivision. Deed restrictions relate to such matters as installation of antennas, fences and walls, outdoor clotheslines, the way a garage faces, etc. Violations of deed restrictions must be dealt with by the developer and/or homeowners association and do not involve the City. The Department of Enforcement Services is responsible for enforcing all regulatory chapters of the City Code enacted by the City Commission to protect the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Deltona. The department includes Animal Control, Code Compliance and Solid Waste Compliance divisions.
The Animal Control Division is responsible for picking up stray dogs and cats, investigating animal bites, abandonment, animal cruelty cases and other complaints.
The Code Compliance Division is responsible for assisting our citizens in understanding and complying with Building Codes, Zoning Ordinances, Parking Ordinances and other City Ordinances related to the development process in Deltona.
The Solid Waste Compliance Division – is responsible for ensuring that all solid waste generated and accumulated within the City shall be collected, removed and disposed of properly. This section is funded by the Solid Waste Management Fund.

The Fire/Rescue Department is comprised of three (3) divisions which are responsible for all non-law enforcement related public safety issues within the City of Deltona.
The Administration and Operations Divisions’ duties include the protection of life and property from fires and other natural and manmade disasters; the provision of Advanced Life Support pre-hospital care for the sick and injured; fire prevention and education on fire and health related topics; fire loss management through a comprehensive program of development review, building inspections and fire origin and cause determination; and highly trained combat forces to minimize the effects of a fire or other disaster.
The Communications Division handles radio traffic for fire fighting crews and Animal Control as well as emergency calls for Public Works and Code Enforcement during nights and weekends.

Local residents need to recognize Florida's unique needs and take new precautions. Otherwise everyday gardening and lawncare activities can result in stormwater runoff - polluted with residential fertilizers and pesticides - getting into adjacent ponds and canals, and then into the estuaries, threatening fish and othe sea life. The Florida Yards and Neighborhoods program (FYN) was developed to address this increasingly serious problem by enlisting homeowners in the effort to save our bays and waterways.

Garage Sales -
Garage sales are limited to two (2) per calendar year from a single residence, with a maximum length of three (3) days per sale. No garage sale signs may be posted on public property or public right-of-way, or affixed to trees, shrubbery, vines or utility poles. One sign, not exceeding 4 square feet, may be placed on-site in the yard. Garage sale items are defined as used household or personal articles. The City of Deltona contracts with Waste Pro Services for garbage collection service. Garbage is collected once a week for each residence. Household trash is collected when placed at the curb on the day of collection. Actual collection times may vary. Garbage cans are not allowed to be put out for waste pick-up more than 12 hours prior to pick up and no later than 12 hours after pick up. Household trash and yard waste must be seperated. Yard waste must be bundled or secured in a bag.
The City's garbage collection service will not collect used motor oil, paint, batteries, pesticides, etc. These items must be disposed of by bringing them to the Tomoka Landfill located at 1990 Tomoka Farms Road or the Volusia County Transfer Station at 3151 E. New York Avenue, DeLand, FL.

Many household products contain chemicals that are corrosive, flammable, reactive, or toxic. Insecticides, herbicides, cleaners, solvents, used oil, pool chemicals and some batteries and paints are examples of products that contain hazardous ingredients. These products should not be put into ordinary trash or poured down the drain or onto the ground.

The Lake Butler Recreation Complex is the home of the only City owned skate surface park. The Deltona Youth Advisory Board Skate Surface is a cement street course with a surface area of about 15,350 sq. ft. it is a lighted area so it can be enjoyced well past daylight. To use the Skate Surface you must provide a notarized permission form. These forms may be picked up at Wes Crile Park located at 1537 Norbert Terrace. There is also a lit basketball court available for use. The complex has a pavilion and playground if
