HISTORY 

How It Began - What is now a thriving Central Florida City began as a planned community in 1962, when well-known developers the Mackle Brothers bought 17,203 acres of land and built a community of single family homes.  By 1963, 180 families had already relocated to the area, and it has been growing rapidly ever since.  Although always planned to evolve into a City, the suburb remained unincorporated until 1995, when the City of Deltona was officially formed.
