Several businesses recently celebrated grand openings in the City of Deltona including:
Publix Supermarkets with a new 56,500 square foot store which opened at 2160 Howland Boulevard on May 8th, in the DuPont Lakes Center. Fairwinds Credit Union, which held a ribbon cutting ceremony on April 17th for their newest branch located near the Wal-Mart on Howland Boulevard. Fifth Third Bank officials held their official ribbon cutting on May 8th for their branch at Elkcam and Howland Boulevards. Sterling Court opened to the community on Alabaster Way near Saxon Boulevard. The facility features independent retirement living, offering one and two bedroom suite apartments with amenities including round the clock staff, three daily meals prepared by a sous chef, and shuttle transportation to local attractions. In the Clearing Stage If you drive by the intersection of Normandy and Graves, you may have recently noticed some construction activity. Site clearing is underway for the much anticipated large scale retail project, Deltona Village. The 150 plus acre project is being developed by Weingarten Realty Investments and will feature over 221,000 square feet of retail space in the initial phase with dining and entertainment venues planned.

Lowe's Improvement will begin to move forward with demolition work of the recently closed Publix, to ready the site for their newest 135,000 square foot store at Howland and Elkcam Boulevards adjacent to the new Publix Supermarket at DuPont Lakes. Coming Soon Listed below are recently announced projects in the City of Deltona that have submitted an official development application and are finalizing the review process.
Top Shelf Car Wash will build a 5,760 square foot full service car wash on Howland Blvd. between Wolf Pack Run and Red Fox Run. Walgreen's will soon begin construction for their new location on Howland Blvd. and Tabb. The Shoppes of East Deltona is a 8,450 square foot retail project that will soon break ground at 121 Howland Blvd, near Wal-Mart. It's that time of year again As summer approaches, we are to be reminded that it is also the beginning of hurricane season. The City of Deltona Department of Economic Development has developed a Business Disaster Plan that provides information and resource tips to small business owners to help them have a plan in place when threatened with disasters. First Annual Report The Department of Economic Development for the City of Deltona released its First Annual Report in April during a joint meeting with the Economic Development Advisory Board and City Commissioners. The 24 page document provides a look back at the past year's accomplishments, updated information on pending projects, and the objectives of the economic development Five Year Strategic Plan adopted by the City Commission in the fall of 2007. It is available for download on the City website deltonafl.gov.
