What is the Community Emergency Response Team? The City of Deltona C.E.R.T. program is an educational program for local citizens and business owners/operators that is intended to prepare you to help yourself, your family and your neighbors in the event of a catastrophic disaster. What does the course involve? The C.E.R.T. training course consists of 21 hours of training and 3 hours of practical exercise. The course is held every Saturday for 4 weeks and each session requires hands-on, interactive training. There are no examinations required to pass this program, however, your skills will be measured through practical exercise. Throughout the course, you will learn information which will assist your family and community during the first critical hours after a disaster. At the conclusion of the program, students will receive a certificate from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and a volunteer C.E.R.T. identification card. Course topics include:
