VETERANS' MEMORIAL PARK 1921 Evard Ave. A Tribute to our Heroes! Veterans' Memorial Park contains the following amenities to date:
Take a drive down Elkcam Blvd. to Evard Ave. (south of Providence Blvd.) and stop by the Veterans' Memorial Park. The City, in conjunction with area Veterans' organizations, has dedicated this site to those service men and women that have served their Country in the past and present. Monuments listing the names of those that have been lost in battle or are currently serving in the war in Iraq are on display. We encourage residents to submit names to be added. The Veterans' Memorial Park is also the site for the Veterans' Day Remembrance Ceremony as well as a tribute for those lost during the September 11th terrorist attack. Once again, we invite everyone to stop by the Veterans' Memorial Park and pay respect to those heroes that have so proudly served in the United States Armed Forces. Now on display: An authentic U.S. Army AH-1 Cobra Helicopter. The City has been working diligently with local veterans groups and the U.S. Army TACOM Division to obtain this piece of history that is now on display in the park for the education and enjoyment of residents. A fundraising campaign is currently underway to build a museum on this site. Clean-ups are regularly conducted on Saturday mornings.
