JANET I. DEYETTE
Commissioner Janet Deyette was elected to the Deltona City Commission District 5, on November 8, 2005. Commissioner Deyette was born in Hartford, Connecticut. She and her four younger brothers grew up on a small farm in Depew, New York. She has three sons from her first marriage. The two oldest are identical twins. She raised her boys on a farm in Akron, New York where she bred, trained and showed Morgan horses. Commissioner Deyette moved to Florida in 1974. She obtained a real estate license in 1979 and became a broker in 1982. She and Earl “Mac” Deyette married in 1984 and moved to Deltona in 1986. Commissioner Deyette graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration – Accounting in 1997. She went on to obtain a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and finished up with a Master of Science in Human Resources-Change Management in 2002. Prior to entering public service, Commissioner Deyette served on the Professional Standards Boards of Realtors in both Seminole and Volusia County, and has served two terms as President of the American Business Women’s Association, Four Townes Charter Chapter and was named 2004 Woman-of-the-Year. In 1999, Commissioner Deyette was appointed a charter member of Deltona’s new Planning and Zoning Board and served the city in this voluntary position for six years. From 2004 through August 2005, she served on two Smart Growth Implementation Committee, sub-committees: Environmental and Development/Re-development. Currently Commissioner Deyette and her husband own and operate Tri County Financial Services. As a Tax Accountant, she handles the tax and accounting part of the business. Her husband is broker of record for their Commercial Property Management, Leasing and Real Estate Sales side of the business. She still enjoys attending horse shows and equestrian events whenever possible. |
