Building Services Division

The City of Deltona Building Services Division implemented a new service that allows customers to wait in a virtual line rather than a physical line.  The initiative is tailored to provide high-quality care, reduce the waiting time and increase efficiency. The lines are available to join during business hours and can be joined at least 30 minutes in advance. Skip the line today!

On City of Deltona Self Service residents and contractors can apply, search, check the status of, or pay for permits. (Permits applied after July 16th, 2019)

Call 386-575-6900 or 407-936-9999. Permit number, Confirmation number, and Inspection Code required.

Who is My Inspector

On the day of your scheduled inspection(s), please visit the City of Deltona Self Service and choose “Today’s Inspections”. In the search box enter your permit number or address associated with the inspection and your inspector for the day will display along with their cell phone number in case you need to reach them.

Pay an Outstanding Invoice

To make a payment on an invoice, please visit the City of Deltona Self Service and choose “Pay Invoices”. You must have the invoice number that begins with “INV” and enter the entire invoice number including any zeros.

Need a Copy of a Permit or Certificate of Completion (COC)

If you are the not owner of the permit, please complete a Public Records Request from the City Clerk’s Office. If you are the owner of the property during the time of permit issuance, please visit the Building Services Division with a valid ID and we can release the documents to you.

Functional Duties

The Building Services Division provides building plan review, permitting, and inspections for the built environment of citizens of Deltona complying with the Florida Building Code, State Statutes, and City Ordinances.

Mission Statement

The objective of the City of Deltona Building Services Division is to protect the public's life, health, safety and welfare as it relates to construction. To provide the highest level of customer service by a fully-trained team dedicated to serving the public. This is accomplished through the implementation of the building, plumbing, mechanical and electrical codes along with various state and local codes and standards. Building Services will endeavor to provide the highest level of Customer Service to the public by continuing to train and educate the Inspection, Plan Review, and Permitting staff. Office response to public needs will be addressed through improvements in office automation and the introduction of new policies to streamline and simplify procedures.

Objectives & Goals

  • Centralize all Residential plan reviews within a single agency.
  • Increase the effectiveness of the office staff through education and cross-training.
  • Increase the financial efficiency of the department by performing more duties with less staff.
  • Perform Fire Safety Plan Review and Inspections for new commercial construction.
  • Perform Business Tax License inspections for commercial businesses.
