This Program was implemented to improve and expedite the permitting process for projects that do not require plan review.
The following information is intended strictly for the use of Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, Roofing, and Solar Contractors ONLY!
To participate in the Construction Services Electronic Permitting Program, please review the information provided below:
Escrow accounts may be used for the following RESIDENTIAL work:
- Roof Replacement and Repair,
- HVAC Change Outs and Repair,
- Electrical Change of Service and other Electrical Repairs,
- Solar Water Heaters, (Master file only)
- Water Heater replacements, Re-piping, and other Plumbing Repairs.
Contractor shall register with Building and Enforcement Services for Electronic Permitting.
Contractor shall be listed with Volusia County Contractor Licensing (Call 386-736-5957 opt. 2 for information)
An Initial Escrow Account Deposit in the minimum amount of $300.00 shall be submitted to Construction Services Division. Subsequent deposits shall also be a minimum of $300.00.
The City’s Construction Services Division shall maintain the escrow account. The Division will account for the deposit, withdrawal of all funds and provide a summary report upon request.
Deposited amounts should be determined by the contractor based on the volume of work performed. Staff recommends deposit amounts based on contractor’s average monthly volume.
A positive balance must be kept in the contractor’s account. Electronic Permits will be denied if funds are not available in the escrow account. Failed inspection fees will automatically be deducted from your escrow account.
The Electronic Permitting Program is established by the City of Deltona Building and Enforcement Services Department, Construction Services Division. Process and procedures may be subject to change to improve this service. Users will be notified if any enhancements are made to this service. Contractors interested in this program will also be required to sign an agreement.
An escrow account can also be opened by mail with the original registration form signed by the license holder and signature notarized including a check or money order in the minimum amount of $300.00 made out to the City of Deltona.
