Join City staff for Annual Lake Cleanup

Annual Lake Cleanup, 9:30 a.m., Feb. 29. Meet at Dupont Lakes Park

The City of Deltona’s Public Works Department will host a lake cleanup and would love for residents to get involved. Staff and volunteers will work on beautifying Deltona’s surface waters. Residents who volunteer will also learn about Deltona’s place in National Pollution Elimination and keeping pollutants out of our lakes and waterways.

The event will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Feb. 29. Those interested in participating are asked to meet at Dupont Lakes Park, 2711 Elkcam Blvd. Gloves, bags and other tools will be available to aid in the cleanup activities. Volunteers will be removing trash from lake banks, beds and other water bodies. Staff and volunteers will work in the area of Lake McGarity via Campbell Park, Lake Dupont via Dupont Lakes Park and the Lake Butler Chain via the Lake Butler Skate Park.

Join us and become part of the solution. Your efforts are appreciated and will be reflected in the beautification of our City for everyone to enjoy. To get involved, call or e-mail Dan O’Hanlon, (386) 878-8962.
