Creating Affordable Housing Opportunities While Preserving Our      Existing Home Values

The Community Development Department's mission is to improve the quality of life and housing conditions of the residents of the City of Deltona through the fair, ethical and honest administration of state and federal programs.  The Community Development Division administers the City’s neighborhood revitalization and housing programs utilizing Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) and Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) funds.  Additionally, the Community Development department is responsible for identifying community development projects for their jurisdiction through the conduct of public meetings and surveys.  




To ALL INTERESTED RESIDENTS AGENCIES AND ORGANIZATIONS: The City of Deltona is publishing this draft to the 2020-2021 Annual Action Plan (AAP) and Prior Program Year’s Amendment for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has proposed to allocate $600,000 to the City of Deltona for the Community Development Block Grant Program for Program Year (PY) 2020 which covers the period, October 1, 2020 through September 30, 2021. The AAP identifies proposed projects and or activities to be undertaken with CDBG funds for the coming year which will serve to benefit low to moderate income persons. Listed below are the proposed projects and activities estimated to be implemented in the coming year. The City is also amending the prior year’s 2018-2019 AAP and 2019-2020 AAP in the amount of $387,882 for funds remaining after the proposed 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 projects were completed or cancelled.

A Public Hearing to obtain citizen input on the Public Service allocations will be held on May 12, 2020 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Wes Crile Park located at 1537 Norbert Terrace, Deltona FL( BY APPOINTMENT ONLY). An additional meeting will be held May 19, 2020, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, at City Hall (BY APPOINTMENT ONLY). A final Public Hearing on CDBG 2020-2021 allocations will be held on June 15th, 2020 during the regular session of the City Commission Meeting in the commission chambers beginning at 6:30 pm.

A DRAFT of the 2020-2021 Annual Action Plan document including all projects and activities to be performed is available for review at City Hall, 2345 Providence Boulevard, from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm., Monday thru Friday, except holidays (BY APPOINTMENT ONLY). Citizens are encouraged to review and make comments about the anticipated use of funds during the 30-day comment period beginning May 10, 2020 and ending June 9, 2020. Public comments on the PY 2020-2021 Annual Action Plan can be submitted in writing no later than 5PM on, June 9, 2020 to:
